About Me:Howdy! My name is Alejandra Europa Casanueva and I am a Chemical Engineer, but MOST importantly I am the LOUDEST and the PROUDEST member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2014. I am originally from Mexico City, but I have lived in Houston, TX for almost ten years. I came to the United States when I was eleven years old. Never in my entire life, I imagined myself accomplishing many of the things I have done. Becoming a chemical engineering - specially from one of the best schools in the nation - is being a dream come true!
Changes are hard, we all know it. I have to admit that moving to this country has been one of the hardest situations I have ever encountered in my entire life. However, this country has provided me with many unique opportunities that have taught me how to be thankful of my life. I grew so much as a person. I learned how to cherish every moment of my life. Although I was originally unhappy with this situation, I am now very grateful to be an American. However, this does not mean I have forgotten my Mexican heritage. Although I do have to admit that I have never been a fan of avocado or pico de gallo - please do not hold this against me! My favorite leisure is working out. My addiction at the moment is Crossfit, but I also enjoy attending group classes such as TRX and Body Pump. Weight lifting is definitely my passion. It makes me feel so alive! I hope to become an instructor one day. I also like spending time on the outdoors. My favorite activities are rock climbing, canoeing/kayaking, skydiving, and hiking. All these allow me to reconnect with my soul and forget of all the stressful things in life. Hard work is my secret to success. I believe it is my responsibility to work as hard as I can to accomplish my goals in life. One of the things I am the most proud of is my dedication and commitment to learning and helping others. I try to support and help my peers as much as possible. I love to inspire and to motivate others to work to their full potential. Since high school, I strive to encourage those around me to challenge themselves and discover their talents. This commitment can be seen through some of the leadership positions I have held in the past and the volunteer service I have engaged in. . |
